say.kitchen officially open!

After months of planning, building and refitting, say.kitchen officially opened its doors on 1st March 2019!

Uncle Fred Agius began proceedings with a moving smoking ceremony in front of say.kitchen on Currie Street. Guests were invited to step through the cleansing smoke into say.kitchen, and be part of say.kitchen’s new story of community connection and lived Reconciliation.

The South Australian Deputy Premier and Attorney General The Hon Vicki Chapman MP officiated, and spoke to a full house of guests that included Nat Cook MP, Shadow Minister for Child Protection representing the Leader of the Opposition, and Rachel Sanderson MP, Minister for Child Protection.

It was wonderful to share the celebration with so many young people, members, friends and supporters, and to know the community is in our corner as we embark and this exciting new era for St John’s Youth Services.
